weekend wishes...

HAPPY LABOR DAY YA'LL!

Pinned Image

Safe travels if you're going anywhere.

and if you're not traveling...
one little favor...

if you have a barbeque
or cookout
of any kind

be sure
and

CALL ME!

green gingham

on the ceiling...

never would have thought of that.
Would you?

product junkie...

as in beauty products...

Hands down the best facial product
that I've ever bought is the Clarisonic Plus system...
Clarisonic - Clarisonic® Plus Skin Care System & Spot Therapy Kit
via

WORTH

EVERY

PENNY

The Plus is awesome because you can use it on your face
then with the simple switch of the brush use it on your body.

You can get one at skinstore.com  for 20% off with the coupon code "FALLG2G"

Another brand I swear by is Ole Henriksen...

LOVE. THIS. STUFF.
via
You use the truth serum (orange) during the day
topping it with the sheer transformation (blue)
then use the night gel (green).

Your skin can thank me later.
So can your wallet...
You can get the kit at skinstore.com
too use the same coupon code
"FALLG2G" for 20% off.

This cream by Kinerase is awesome for undereye circles

You can get it at beautybar.com with
free shipping and free samples.

Another dark circle treatment I've seen mentioned alot is from
Clinique (I haven't personally tried this but I trust the brand)...
NEW Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector
via

You can get it for $40 from clinique.com or a big box store like Nordstrom and Macy's.
The benefit to buying from one of these places is one of my favorite phrases in life
"GIFT WITH PURCHASE"
I love the way that rolls of the tongue don't you?
Yes it takes work to google and search the specific sites BUT
I haven't bought mascara and other little goodies you get in YEARS.
Or click here and sign up for email alerts to clinique bonus time in your area.

NIGHT TIME
I recently started using this product at night
alternating it with my Ole night gel
(I'm a junkie, that's what we do)
Rapid Tone Repair Night Moisturizer

I like it alot...retinol plus vitamin C
what could be better?
Its around $20 so I'd say the price.
Plus you can get it anywhere
you don't have to order it online.

DAY TIME

While you're at the drugstore getting some neutrogena
you might also pick up some Olay like this
Olay Age Defying 2-in-1 Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream + Serum
I haven't tried it but I'm a fan of SPF day creams
and I'm a sucker for anything that says it firms.

Currently I'm using this one by Ole
Ole Henriksen - Truth Revealed™ Super Crème SPF 15
Its good but my skin isn't dry enough for this
super rich cream...if you're skin is dry
get this stuff...it firms and protects.

"THAT TIME OF THE MONTH"
If you break out like a teenager once a month
then I have the thing for you.
BEST
ZIT
MEDICINE
EVER

It'll shrink a mountain into a mole hill
in no time at all. LOVEs it.

If you have any skin care favorites
please leave a comment.
I'm a junkie you know...

don't judge me

I know I only recently finished our family room.
Its been a little more than a year.
Is it wrong to want to change it again?
I've only just finished some things like the bamboo shades.

Then I opened the new catalog from calico corners.
This spoke to me.

Anybody shocked that its blue and green?
Didn't think so.

I'm already using Waverly's lovely lattice
for my kitchen curtains...

Pinned Image

Think that may be a sign...
but I'm itching to get some other stuff done
around here before I start a big new project.

What's on your to-do list?

I'm totally doing this...

trayforless
I just saw this during my morning blog crawl...
she had me at apple green and monogrammed.

I"M IN!

These are $2 trays from Target, scrapbook paper
plus a monogram she made on her computer.
The only tricky part is that she had a big piece of acrylic
cut into pieces at a home improvement store.
Might be an issue in our local stores but I'm willing to use some
southern charm to see if I can find an employee to help me.

My youngest starts pre-K today.
I'm sad but happy at the same time.
I'm sad he's growing up but ready to have time to get things done.
Lots of projects to do, reorganizing, decluttering,
oh and I want to get a job.
More on that another day...
enjoy your Tuesday!

Food for School

The boys start school next week
which means I need to do some organizing
in the pantry and fridge...

wouldn't it be lovely to greet this in the am
{in my rush to make lunches}...
Snack container veggies
via

Think I'll make a basket like this
so the boys can grab their own breakfast...

Snack container crackers
via

I'm also dreaming of making easy-peasy
healthy things
for breakfast on the run like
sweet potato muffins

Pinned Image
via

 (recipe from runner's world)

Sweet Potato Muffins
2 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil*
1 cup pureed or mashed cooked sweet potato
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
*I substitute the same amount of applesauce for the oil

Heat oven to 375° F. Grease 12 muffin cups or add paper liners.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, ginger, baking soda, and salt.

In a bowl, whisk butter, oil, sweet potato, egg, and buttermilk.
Fold wet mixture into the dry; stir until just combined.

Fill muffin cups three-quarters full.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Banana Nut Variation
 Reduce sugar to 1/2 cup.
Replace sweet potato with 1 cup mashed, very ripe banana
Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts to the batter.

for Annette

one of my sweet peeps (and fellow mom of twins) Annette
is in the process of building a new home.

Forgive me for yet one more brilliant built-in
but I wanted to share it with her...

for Laura

my peep Laura has a space in her kitchen that bugs her...

Here are some things I think she could do to "clean" it up...

My first thought was to frame a favorite
quote and lean in up in front of a couple of the outlets.
I did this in my kitchen with print from JDC

Here's a quote Laura said she liked
Pinned Image

If not that then how about a magnetic board?
this blogger {tatertots and jello}organized
her message center and made her own...

she used a dollar frame and some sheet metal
covered in a favorite fabric
to make one that covers cords and other "ugly"

via

plus she used one of these file holders and
3m command strips to make a place
for the kids' school paperwork
clear folder

here's her "after"

all pics via
click here to see how she did it

Seems like she updated that area even more!

via

Love the tray and the pop of color.
For her updated tutorial on decluttering junk drawers click here.

Another great little idea would be to get a charging
station for cell phones

OR maybe Laura could make her own like this blogger

Like the picture says she used a lotion bottle!
Brilliant recycling!
